Missy the Smithfield from Richmond, Tasmania

Missy with Nes and Ed

We are in Richmond Tasmania, about 30 minutes from Hobart. Richmond is an old colonial town with many stone buildings from the early to mid 19th century. Its a popular tourist destination because people like to connect with the past and many of the buildings have been nicely restored and made functional. The oldest Anglican and Catholic churches are here and the oldest bridge, which was built by convicts in 1823.

We are house and dog minding for six weeks while the owners, Jan and Marjan are in France for a holiday. Missy, the pure bred Smithfield, gets two walks per day and loves to swim in the river and round up the ducks. Its the beginning of spring and Wattle is in blossom all over, creating a beautiful fragrance in the air.
